Hey folks,We have decided to make the server donation access only. I took a look at the logs and discovered that of the people who actually build regularly on the server, about 80% of them have donated (many of which were already whitelisted!). So, it doesn't seem to be a big deal to switch to this policy in the first place.Secondly, half of the whitelist has yet to show up for their first login... this is a big liability to the server as we have hundreds of users who evidently didn't care that much about being whitelisted in the first place, and should they come online, probably wouldn't care much about contributing in a positive way to our world.Third: Our Mods are exhausted. The build challenges have taken a heavy toll on their patience and their personal build time. Reducing the number of new players logging in and being oriented will free up their time and their mining fingers for more creative work.Fourth: The donators have been generous. In some cases, very generous. I feel that this should be rewarded with some sense of exclusivity. There is a certain pride that comes with that and it enhances the quality and mood of the server. I am proud to have such awesome people working together under the Minecraft AWESOME name.Note that, if you were already on the whitelist but have not donated, your creations will be preserved. If you can't donate immediately, you will be able to return to your work when you are able.REMEMBER! We want to reward all of those who have contributed to the show, including those who have purchased merch in the past! If you have some AVG merch make sure you send us a picture with your username for immediate whitelisting! If you order NEW merch, be sure to include a note with your order like this:MINECRAFT USERNAME: myawesomeusernameThis may take a bit longer for whitelisting since Fangamer will be sending them to us in batches.Thanks for all your support guys! We are going LIVE tonight at 7:00 PST (2.5 hours from this post).We'll be streaming to both Justin.tv and Ustream to try and alleviate some of the problems people had last time (mainly international viewers). Keep in mind that Justin.tv will be HD, while Ustream will be reduced quality, so use the one that works for you.Also, we will only be using Justin.tv for chatting, so don't bother saying anything in the Ustream chat. In fact, we won't be looking at the chat as much as we did during our anniversary episode. Today at 3:00 PST (countdown clock on LIVE page) we will be streaming a LIVE BUILD on our Minecraft server!What is a LIVE BUILD?!Basically, we will be taking down our regular world and tucking it away in a back up. Then, we are starting a fresh world JUST for the LIVE show! in other words, it will be a Minecraft world that only exist when we go LIVE! This will be a cool way for viewers to watch how quickly AWESOME things can come together when you get 50+ Minecrafters working together one one server!FAQ:Q: What about the old world?! YOU MEAN WE WILL LOSE ALL OUR WORK?!A: Dear god no. The old world will be reinstated after the show from the back up. No work will be lost.Q: What about the NEW WORLD?! YOU MEAN WE WILL LOSE ALL OUR WORK?!A: Jesus, seriously? The LIVE BUILD world will come back for every live show. Had a talk with YouTube today and they have let me know a relatively easy was to get a new channel added to our partner account, and continue making money off of our work. I wan to be clear about this. On Minecraft AWESOME! We do not cheat... well, when I say we, I of course do not include ME. I mean, I'm GOD. Regardless, we take a great pride in the fact that everything you see in our server, barring my Apple-store-esque loft in Old Port has been done by legitimate survival multiplayer means. The only time you will see any item spawning, is during the live shows, which I do often for expediency, utilitarian purposes, or comedic effect (in this area, I am an expert).Some of you may be aware that in the latest Minecraft version, Mojang has left in a rather serious bug that allows duplication of any movable block. It takes some eggheadery, and as you saw on our pistons episode, it can result in some fairly entertaining results. However, now that you know how it's done... don't do it.
Please note, that the mods will be doing patrols. Anyone caught duping will be treated in the same manner as though they were stealing.Stay AWESOME guys, and have fun!-Fraser
